Martin Lee, Benny Tai, and Nathan Law visited the UK from 27th September to 3rd October 2018 to speak at the Conservative Party Conference on the erosion of freedom, rule of law, and autonomy in Hong Kong. The delegation thanks Hong Kong Watch and the Conservative Party Human Rights Commission for hosting them.
The group also met with local media, members of parliament past and present, government officials, non-governmental organisations, academics, and students. The trio also had the honour speak at panels at SOAS and at Cambridge, followed by lively and frank exchanges with the audience afterwards.
Copies of our report have been distributed to our hosts and those who have met with the delegation, and we look forward to more discussions and exchanges between our respective civil societies in the near future.
